Food glorious food photography

I love food photography almost as much as I love food and cooking. The blog What Katie Ate is so delicious that it almost makes me want to try some of these involved neo-British recipes.

Um...yum.

This recipe from
Glamour is making my mouth water, even though I just polished off breakfast.

Tomato Egg Cups
Recipe courtesy of Epicurious.com
Ingredients:
*4 medium-size vine-ripened tomatoes
*Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
*4 large eggs
*4 tablespoons shredded white cheddar cheese
*4 slices toast, cut into strips

Preparation:
1. Preheat oven to 425F.
2. Slice off and set aside the top third of each tomato. Scoop out the seeds.
3. Place the tomatoes in a glass or ceramic baking dish. Season with the salt and pepper.
4. Break an egg into each tomato.
5. Bake, with the sliced tops, for 10 minutes.
6. Top the tomatoes with the cheese and bake until the cheese is bubbly, 5 to 7 minutes more.
7. Let cool for 5 minutes. Serve with the tops and toast strips (also called "soldiers"-as your child might be delighted to know) for dipping.

Notable weekly meals...

I think I'm going to try and start making this a weekly post.  It will be meals I made (with recipe) or meals I've  had at great restaurants, with the intent of you trying them at some point.  Thanks.

This delightful steak dish was so easy and quick to make...and wow was it good.  I also made it later on in the week with chicken and that was pretty good as well.  I feel like its going to be a new staple of mine, at least until I tire of it.

This dish might not look as appetizing as the steak, but it sure was.  Just as easy to make too!  Hungry Girl has some great ideas...

Cook Think

I love to cook. Cookthink.com is such a cool way to get inspired. Just type in an ingredient, dish, cuisine and moods and voile. Today I did cheese + hors d'oeuvre + cajun + soulful and it gave me recipes like Lentil Bruschetta with Basil and Pecorino and Sliced Mozzarella with Black Olive Tapenade.
