Recent Etsy purchase

Just bought this 1930s cross necklace off Etsy. I feel pretty confident in the purchase. It was only $15 anyway. Although I feel like items purchased off Etsy are generally pretty reliable, as opposed to Ebay where I am rarely shipped the same item pictured online.

All part of my plan to start dressing more like Alexa Chung:

Mary Mary Quite Contrary

Remember my recent post about the prints by Vincenzo Rizzo? I'm sure my multitudes of readers have bought his prints by now. Here is a display idea I saw today while perusing old Cote de Texas blog postings.

Was looking for some portraits and stumbled upon these by Vincenzo Rizzo on Etsy. They are really inexpensive, and I think that one resting on a console or mantel would look cool. Or I may just come off as a total creep.

Hanging from the chandeliers...

Watching last night's GG, I noticed that Blair had a chandelier in her NYU dorm room...and while unrealistic, it got me to thinking about how much I like chandeliers... The great thing about them is that they come in literally every color, shape, and size (OH and lets not forget price!). Here are a few that I came across while browsing:

"Florette" Chandelier, Horchow

Bird's Nest Chandelier, Etsy

Red Pagoda Chandelier, Pieces

Veranda Round Chandelier, Pottery Barn

3-D Chandelier, Urban Outfitters ('fake', cheap!)

Wine Bottle Chandelier, Pottery Barn

Milk Glass Chandelier, Horchow

Spin Art

One of my all time favorite Domino spreads was this, from September 2007:

This is the apartment of the people behind Libertine.  While the entire space was pretty much perfect, the best part is that Damien Hirst spin art in the background.

Then, today, I was looking for ideas for my annual Halloween cards and I found this great DIY project on Etsy.com:

Then it was clear: I had to buy a Spin Art set.  So I purchased this one on Amazon.  Expect great things from me soon.

Retro Etsy

Not only does Etsy have every handmade item I can imagine, but the vintage housewares are so well priced and perfect for my apartment. Here are some of the finds, but the choices really are endless. It's fun just to browse.

If I had more time, I'd collect all the awesome thriftstore finds from Atlanta and sell them on Etsy. But I don't have time. So I'll just buy these:

8 Vintage Blue Glasses from Moxie Thrift.
Retro Owls from The Runny Bunny.
Vintage Double Sided Gas Station Sign from Blue Belle Bazaar.

Vintage Sindhi Ralli Quilt from Pakistan or India from Rayela.

Sidenote: My love for quilts is a love for quilts as wall decor. Not beds, because I think quilts are art.... although most people think they are tacky.

These would look great all together. Vintage Bird Prints from Emily Lynch Vintage.

Taxidermy Fetish

My love for anything with the word "taxidermy" is worrisome. Love this though! Click here.

This is Kate

At the risk of using an overused work, I am OBSESSED with etsy.com. I think they need to hire me as a personal etsy shopper. Anyway this is more cool etsy stuff. ThisIsKate has cool unwatercolory watercolors. She also has a website www.thisiskate.com, but I'm partial to etsy.

If this isn't just the cutest thing I've ever seen.... It's here.
