For you

Modern architecture in Atlanta? It exists!  I love how you can see the relatively boring houses surrounding this one out the windows.  Architecture by Brian Bell and David Yocum. Take a look at their website here... you'll love it.  Especially look at the Florian-Hart Residence.

How Do I Get There From Here?

Some of us still haven't been to South America.   I am dying to go to El Calafate and stay at the Hotel Esplendor

First of all, the scenery:

And then this amazing earthy chic hotel:

Lanterns!

I really love lanterns for any room in the house or in a tent at a wedding...I'm not sure where my obsession/fascination came from but here are a few of my favorites that I've seen lately.

For a wedding:

Lanterns to complete the look yourself:

Yes, not technically a lantern, but the same idea...

Pottery Barn Weathered Zinc Lantern

Pottery Barn really has a lot of affordable options, and you could make them a bit more rustic or change the color around if you wanted.  I'm also sure there are a lot of vintage finds to be had...and don't get me wrong I also still love a good chandelier!

Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me....

in six weeks I will be celebrating my 24th birthday.  Yes, I still have birthday countdowns, as well as birthday lists.  One of which I will feature here:

DIY Mag

I just walked into my apartment and I am SO EXCITED because my new subscription of Do It Yourself Magazine is here! It's like Domino meets Country Living meets a Lowe's catalog.  You kind of have to de-country some of the projects, but I am so excited about so many of these crafty ideas.
Headboard project: The magazine claims this is an easy headboard.  It actually doesn't look too hard, just some foam board, MDF sheets and fabric.  The country part is that crazy fabric, which I'd just replace with a solid.

I love this idea for a beaded-board wall.  The beaded board comes in sheets and you can just change the direction to make the geometric pattern.  Again, a little too tween/country with that lime green.  I'd just do a cream or white.

Even the directions to make that table and lamp are included in the article.  I am just thrilled with my new magazine.  Even though some of it is not my style, it definitely has some unique starting points for projects.  Wahoo!

Your namesake?

Have you seen this 60 Minutes interview with Anna Wintour?  While I understand why a lot of people look upon her with disdain, I really admire her and any woman with that sort of power. I also wish I could get away with wearing shades all the time...

Always a bridesmaid...

I think these decorated cookies are really cute...maybe we could use them for an upcoming friend's bridal shower, baby shower, birthday, or whatever comes first.  They are made by a company called Gumdrop Cookie Shop, and from their website it looks like they will customize them anyway you would like.  The following are a few of my favorites but the options are endless.

how cute would they be in the cafe of our dream store...

not the design I would go with...but cute idea

classic...maybe in an out of town guest "goodie bag"

I think he's kind of cute...

Well, I guess I'll have to get an Uglydoll for my new apartment.  Somehow they've reared their ugly little head (literally) in really cool interiors.  OR, you could just sit on my couch wearing this number.  In exchange for a place to live, of course.

Some of my "wants" for the Summer...

First let me start by asking, are jumpsuits still a bit controversial in ATL?  I don't own a long one yet, but I have a few rompers or "play suits".  I absolutely love the versatility of them....but I know a lot of people are hesitant to take the plunge.

This Wink jumpsuit is my absolute favorite.  I love the wide legs, deep v-neck, and the fact that its racer back.  It's also a great brushed satin material.  Downside is that it's way out of my price range...

So I might have to settle for this Free People one....
at least until a sale!  One thing I do like about this one is the braided drawstring.  For some reason I've always loved braided detail, whether it be on a strap, belt, or really anywhere.

Next on my list are beach cover ups.  I've always loved a good tunic dress for the beach, but this year I'm leaning towards shorts + long top combos.

So you'll have to use your imagination a little with this picture, but I'm thinking a denim shirt would be a really cute cover up.  My favorite option is this fitted chambray button down by Lauren Jeans Co., that I think I would order one size up to make it a little longer/roomier.

The second option I've found is from J. Crew.  This one is a bit darker denim, and the website says its made to fit over sized.  Now that I see them together and read about the fits, I really can't decide which I like more...
